Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Taron Hall has been an entertainer and singer all his life. He was frontman for “Pleasure,” nominated for Best New Canadian Band at the West Coast Music Awards in 2001, and he was reviewed as being one of Canada’s most charismatic and enthusiastic performers on stage. His songs have been used in the television series Caitlin's Way and in video games produced by EA Sports.
Taron is a born host. His colorful energy translates beautifully onto camera inviting viewers to share in a global circus witnessed through his senses.
His fearless thirst for exploration has driven him to travel 28 non-western countries in the past 10 years, on a personal quest to become fully immersed in the most far-out of cultures. He has a rare gift for landing anywhere in the world and intuitively finding his way by winning the affection of local villagers and tribes’ people.
Taron began shooting his travels throughout Africa, South America, Asia and the Middle East with the intent of showcasing his experiences for people around him, hoping to challenge them to broaden their perspectives on life. While in Africa in 2004, he bought a used car and traveled around 8 countries for 9 months, experiencing and staying only in tribal areas and those where he was the only foreigner. It was during this trip that he stumbled upon his current passion of documenting and hosting adventurous films which explore the celebrations of diverse and fascinating cultures around the world.
